Year in Review

We've got 15 days left in 2013.
Here's a little review of what we've been up to all year.

At the beginning of the year I posted this status on Facebook:

I'm sad to say I didn't get to visit Malawi. yet.
But I guess the whole Little Miller thing is worth it ;)
Plus that leaves something else exciting for next year!

May 18, 2013: Completed 2 B.A.'s! It already feels like so long ago...

Baby, baby, baby Oh!
June 2, 2013: Found out about Little Miller #1
September 21, 2013: Found out Little Miller is a girl

Steven's handyman skills have improved this year
thanks to all the little projects he's been doing to improve our apartment.
We've learned a lot about caring for a house from our
adventures with freezing pipes, minor flooding, and a rusted out water tank!

We've also dealt with mold and rodent invasions!

Rachel's comfort level in the kitchen has improved this year.
She hasn't spoiled Steven with as much homemade bread as she did for the first 6 months of their marriage, but she discovered that she very much enjoys making soups.
Pasta and stir-fry are her other specialties.

We were blessed to enjoy a weekend getaway with each of our extended families.
It was especially great to have all the siblings and Mom and Dad Miller
in the same area for the better part of the year.

Steven worked at Red Rock Landscaping again this year.
He's getting more responsibilities with the curbing side of the business.

After graduation, my internship position at Morning Star Pregnancy Services
turned into a part-time job. I enjoy using my counseling techniques to help women in crisis pregnancies.

We still help out with the youth group at church.
sometimes things get crazy.

This year we joined a small group - actually it's quite a large group - with several other young couples at church. It's been great to get to know them better and learn about marriage, Christian communities, and all kinds of great stuff.

All in all it's been a great year. We're healthy and happy, have a roof over our heads, employment, and are growing our little family. God is good. We are grateful.

Goals for next year:

  • Get into a daily routine of spending time with God
  • Keep having a great marriage
  • Have a baby
  • Visit Malawi
