Eating: Food and Other Things.

I love food. and eating. Preferably eating food.
So far it seems my daughter has only caught on to the eating part...

Non-food Items She Has Consumed:
leaves
paper in all colors, shapes, and sizes
twigs
Christmas cactus (house plant)
pebbles
half a lady bug
dirt
used tissues
hair
crayons
Lysol soap bubbles

I figure a little extra protein and fiber won't hurt her.
Although the lady bug did give her really bad breath...
Sometimes I feel bad about the things that make it into that cute little belly. At least we've successfully avoided honey, peanut butter, and straight up poison. But apparently now peanut butter is recommended as a first food. Who knew?! The professionals can't make up their minds. Some day they'll be telling parents that lady bugs are a really healthy snack. We're so ahead of the game.

While we're on the topic of food, let me share with you a most delicious new recipe that I tried the other day.
You can find it here.
I left out the cornmeal because I didn't have any.
And I added basil to the garnish on the top.

I rarely have enough self control to snap a few pics before the food is devoured.
But I guess I was feeling strong that day. I hope you're wearing a bib because you're about to drool.

so yum

gooey cheese and perfect crust!

a very happy husband
