Last Friday marked a whole year since the (dramatic) birth of our son.
He was very much loved and celebrated - in multiple ways, on many days.
I was struck by something Chloë said to him in the brief moment he allowed her to snuggle: "You are very much loved all around the world and you don't even know it yet!"
How true! How beautiful. How rich.
Here are the few photos I remembered to take at various gatherings that included tributes to Oswald's first year.
Confession: we do not buy gifts for our kids until they're old enough to realize we are not buying gifts.

Go ahead and gasp.
Now think about the gifts you got when you were one. Two? Three?
Couldn't think of them, could ya! ;)
That's my point.
Even still, you can see that our kids do not go without!
Some of our family members LIKE to give gifts and our kids like to receive them, so it works out.
We do make sure to celebrate them in other ways - time, attention, yummy foods, experiences, candles and songs all day long, family & friends, etc.
