Steven has gotten into running this year and as my favorite pants have felt tight all year, I've decided to join in a bit. We went for a jog this morning with the boys--Oswald on bike and Charlie in the stroller. It is fun to have older children that want to sleep in, can read a note, and be fine in the house on their own for a brief time. It's a nice way to start the morning.
My goal for today was to water the flowers of my childrens' behavior, not the weeds. It went very well and I was pleased with the results. I also decided to attempt to make it to Bible study, knowing it might be stressful. It was not especially stressful except for Charlie crying at any point that I was not cradling him as a newborn on my chest. New situations are hard. I appreciated a new insight shared by a person I had deemed least-likely-to-share-anything-insightful (confession: I am way too arrogant).
sun shining on clay makes it harder, whereas sun shining on ice makes it melt.
What if God is always sun but our choices make us clay or ice - meltable or immovable. This is a beautiful way of looking at phrases like "God hardened Pharoh's heart."
Eliana went to art and math class.
We went home for lunch and naps.
We walked to the library to pick up gift cards to bless the community through the school district social worker.
I did not have to cook dinner, thanks to church.
Our kids play with other kids on their own terms. Their terms do not include kid tables or group games that are new to them.
The girls and I had a sweet time of pillow talk before bed.
Steven and I shared the events of our day and did some brainstorming together.
Goodnight.
