Bienvenido 2019! Welcome 2019!
I love a fresh start.
The logical part of me (which is approximately 87.3%) knows that any moment can be a fresh start.
The remaining 12.7% of me really appreciates arbitrary beginnings - Jan 1, Mondays, sunrises, etc.
And boy oh boy is 2019 starting out fresh:
dishes are washed ✨
3/3 toilets and bathroom sinks were just cleaned ✨
husband is currently folding laundry ✨
-and-
i've selected 1 item to remove from our house ✨
I decided to play the Minimalism Game this month.
and it's not just because I always feel bogged down after Christmas (although I do).
Husband and I have both been feeling more enslaved to clutter and excess than we'd like to be.
We reorganized our upstairs closets and came up with a better storage system for our kids' library books and toys but there's still too much.
Our kids feel overwhelmed when we ask them to tidy their things, which signals to me that they have too much.
I'm hoping that the Minimalism Game makes it more fun for them to let go of things that no longer bring them joy. If not, at least I'll get rid of a lot of my things so I have more time to tidy theirs.
Today's item to go is a cute box that I've had since high school. I've tried using it in many different ways but never found a good fit. It's too small to sort mail, too big to hold hair stuff, and too physical to hold recipe cards (I prefer electronic). I'm ready to get it off our counter and hope that someone else can find a good use for it.
To Community Aid it goes!
I hope that whatever you're starting this year is measurable and attainable and brings you and your community peace and joy!
